More sparkle for Palace Shopping public realm

The next phase of improvements is underway at Palace Shopping to enhance the experience enjoyed by visitors.

New granite paving is being laid across the Church Street entrance by Waterstones, along with new planters, seating and refreshed lighting and signage. This will complement the improvements to the covered mall that were completed last year, creating an area that can be enjoyed by those arriving at Palace Shopping.

The work is expected to take 12 weeks and is being carried out in managed phases to ensure safety and minimise the disruption for shoppers and retailers. These works will be followed by further improvements in phase 3 next year where Pearsons/M&S Square will also benefit from new paving, lighting and seating.

All retailers will continue trading throughout the work and every effort is being made by the management team to minimise disruption to shoppers during their visits.

These improvements are part of a comprehensive set of proposals to enhance the shopping in Enfield town, including those completed at the end of 2023 which enhanced the covered mall area outside Waitrose along with new toilet facilities.

Palace Shopping centre manager Preston Gaddy said: “These improvements will make a big impact for our visitors, improving the shopping experience and reinforcing the wider feeling around Enfield Town of a public realm that is cared for and valued.

“We would like to thank our retailers and visitors in advance for their understanding and patience during the works, which have been carefully phased so our shoppers can be welcomed every day and enabled to get to all the shops they want to visit.”
